MD, PhD Piotr Dudek

Senior assistant at the Department of Orthopaedics and Rheumo-orthopaedics of CMKP at the Prof. A. Gruca SPSK in Otwock, with which he has been associated since 2015. Since 2018, research assistant at the Centre of Postgraduate Medical Education in Warsaw.

My areas of interest mainly include knee and hip joint arthroplasty, complications after arthroplasty, peri-prosthetic infections, reconstructive procedures within the knee joint, including arthroscopic procedures.

I gained my professional experience at Polish and international centres. I completed fellowships and took part in numerous courses in, among other places, Finland, the Netherlands, Germany, Italy and the United Kingdom.
I am the author and co-author of numerous publications and scientific presentations.

Publications

Author and co-author of more than a dozen international publications in arthroplasty, peri-prosthetic infections and revision surgery, including papers in J Fungi, J Clin Med, Int J Infect Dis, J Orthop Res, Orthopade, Orthopedics, Chirurgia Narządów Ruchu Ortopedia Polska and Bone & Joint Journal. Polish co-translator of the textbook “Rheumo-orthopaedics” (Sell S, Rehard S), MediSfera, 2020.

Scientific presentations

Since 2018 – numerous lectures on CMKP specialist and advanced training courses in knee surgery, hip surgery, arthroplasty, geriatrics, inflammatory diseases and traumatology. Lecturer at Knee Master, Hip Master and Hip Experts Meeting conferences and at national and international arthroplasty congresses from 2015 onwards. His doctoral dissertation on bacterial survival under ultrasound sonication won 2nd place in the Polish Society of Orthopaedics and Traumatology competition for best doctoral thesis (2021).

Courses and training

Attended over 40 Polish and international arthroplasty, trauma and revision-surgery courses from 2012 to 2022, including AO Trauma cadaver workshops, Exeter advanced technology course (UK), Pro-Implant PJI workshop (Berlin), Stryker Great Expectations, and “Hip Master”, “Knee Master” and “Hip Experts Meeting” series.
