MD Andrzej Komor

I specialise in ankle joint surgery: arthroscopic and “open” reconstructions of ligament injuries and osteochondral defects, peri-articular corrective osteotomies, and ankle joint arthroplasty.

I also perform the full range of shoulder joint surgery – arthroscopy and arthroplasty.

In addition, I also deal with foot surgery: forefoot reconstructions (hallux valgus, toe deformities) and hindfoot reconstructions (flatfoot) in adolescents and adults; knee joint surgery: arthroscopic and “open” reconstructions of ligament, meniscus and osteochondral injuries, peri-articular corrective osteotomies, primary and revision arthroplasty; shoulder joint surgery: arthroscopic reconstructions of labrum, rotator cuff and acromioclavicular joint injuries, primary and revision arthroplasty.

I am a graduate of the Medical Academy of Warsaw and of the Faculty of Management of the Medical University, and a member of the European Society of Sports Traumatology, Knee Surgery and Arthroscopy, the Polish Arthroscopy Society and the Polish Society of Ankle and Foot Surgery. From 1997 to 2007 I served as the doctor of the Polish Youth National Football Team. As a doctor of the Polish Medical Mission, I took part in rescue operations after the earthquakes in Pakistan (2005) and Indonesia (2006), for which I was awarded the Order “For Dedication and Courage”. During EURO 2012 I provided medical care for referees and players.

Education

• Graduate of the 1st Faculty of Medicine of the Medical Academy of Warsaw (1986–1992) and of the Faculty of Management of the University of Warsaw;
• In 2001 he passed the second-degree specialist examinations with distinction and obtained the title of Specialist Orthopaedist and Traumatologist (specialist training supervisor – Prof. Andrzej Górecki).
