About me

I specialise in orthopaedic rehabilitation of the knee joint, the ankle joint and foot, the hand and the elbow. I also work on soft-tissue physiotherapy, particularly the Achilles tendon. I am a co-author of a book on Achilles tendon rehabilitation – a complete rehabilitation protocol after three-bundle Achilles tendon reconstruction (https://carolina.pl/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/Start_Rehabilitacja-Sciegna-Achillesa_publikacja.pdf).

I defended my doctorate in physical culture sciences in 2021. I am a biomechanics specialist at the Functional Diagnostics Centre. I lecture on orthopaedic rehabilitation at cadaver courses for doctors at the Medical Education Centre in Warsaw. I teach Clinical Foundations of Physiotherapy in Orthopaedics and Traumatology at the Physiotherapy programme of the University of Social Sciences in Warsaw. I am a member of the Polish Biomechanics Society. I am a physiotherapist for the Polish National Team in Sport Lifesaving and a member of the Medical Committee of the Polish Surfing Association.

  • 2016/2017 summer semester: teaching Biomechanics at 1st and 2nd-cycle studies at the Higher School of Education in Sport in Warsaw.
  • 2017/2018 summer semester: teaching Biomechanics to 2nd-year Physiotherapy students at the Academy of Physical Education in Warsaw.
  • 2016–2018: participation as researcher in the STRATEMEG programme “Prevention and treatment of civilisation diseases” – “Innovative tissue engineering methods supporting the healing and regeneration of tendons and ligaments” – developing rehabilitation methodology after Achilles tendon surgery using stem cells, Warsaw.
  • Diagnostician at the Functional Diagnostics Centre at Carolina Medical Center, biomechanical testing of athletes of the Polish national wrestling, pentathlon and volleyball teams. Biomechanical testing of athletes of various sports disciplines.
  • Lecturer on courses at the Medical Education Centre in Warsaw.

Areas of interest
