MD Andrzej Komor

I specialize in foot and ankle surgery: arthroscopic and “open” reconstructions of ligaments injuries and cartilage-bone defects, periarticular corrective osteotomies, ankle arthroplasty, reconstructive surgery with PSI (Patient Specific Implant) systems, limbs extension with modern techniques (growth nails), hallux valgus and lesser toes correction and hindfoot (flat foot) repair in adolescents and adults.

Furthermore, I deal with diseases of the knee joint: I perform arthroscopic and “open” reconstruction of ligaments, menisci and cartilage-bone defects, periarticular corrective osteotomies, primary and revision arthroplasty.

I graduated from the Faculty of Medicine and the Faculty of Management of the Medical University in Warsaw. I am a member of the European Society of Sports Traumatology, Knee Surgery and Arthroscopy, the Polish Arthroscopic Society and the Polish Society of the Foot and Ankle. For more than 25 years I specialize in reconstructive surgery of the foot, ankle and knee; as the only Polish surgeon, I am an international instructor of ankle arthroplasty in Poland. In the years 1997-2007 I held a position of a doctor of the Polish Youth Football Team. As a doctor of the Polish Medical Mission, I took part in rescue operations after the earthquake in Pakistan (in 2005) and Indonesia (in 2006), for which I was awarded the medal “For dedication and courage”. During EURO 2012 I was responsible for the medical care of the judges and players in Warsaw National Stadium. I speak Polish, Spanish and English languages.

Education

• 1st Faculty of Medicine at the Medical University of Warsaw (1986-1992) and the Faculty of Management at the University of Warsaw.
• In 2001, he passed the 2nd degree specialization exams with honors and obtained the title of Specialist in Orthopedics and Traumatology (supervisor of the specialization – Professor Andrzej Górecki).
