Dr Tomasz Borkowski is a urologist with many years of experience, which he gained, among other places, at leading medical institutions in France, the United Kingdom and the United States. His main areas of interest are urological oncology and minimally invasive techniques. For several years Dr Tomasz Borkowski has been participating in clinical trials concerning the treatment of bladder cancer and prostate cancer.
Education
- 1996 – medical degree from the Faculty of Medicine, Medical University of Warsaw
- 2005 – defended doctoral thesis in endourology
- 2006 – obtained specialist qualification in urology and the title of Fellow of the Board of Urology.
Professional experience and fellowships
- During his specialist training he spent a year at an academic centre in France, where he gained experience in urological laparoscopy under the supervision of Prof. Abbou.
- 2004 – 3-month fellowship at the university hospital in Bern (Switzerland)
- 2011 – nominated for academic exchange as part of the AUA/EAU Academic Exchange Program, a scientific collaboration between the European and American Urological Associations.
- He currently serves as Deputy Head of the Department of General, Oncological and Functional Urology at the Medical University of Warsaw on ul. Lindleya in Warsaw

Dr hab. Tomasz Borkowski is the author of numerous publications, conference presentations and book chapters.
Membership in Scientific Societies
- member of the Polish and European Scientific Societies
- From 2004 to 2005 he chaired the Section of Urology Trainees of the Polish Urological Association, and 3 years ago he was appointed to the Board of the Endourology and ESWL Section of the Polish Urological Association
- Since 2014 he has been on the Board of the Oncology Section of the PTU
- For several years he has been active on the scientific committee of PTU congresses
- He also serves as a reviewer at European Scientific Society congresses
